RECOMMENDED GOOD NEIGHBOR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE PROCEDURES

DEPARTURES - Consistent with safety, climb to 1,500 Feet, runway heading before making turns or as directed by the tower. Reduce takeoff power when safety permits. 
No intersections takeoffs!
ARRIVALS - Keep all arrival patterns over water as much as possible or as directed by the ATC.
Jets should be using NBAA standard noise abatement procedures when possible, consistent with safety.

VFR TRAFFIC

Runway 3 - Departures

Climb straight ahead to 1,200 feet and 1/4 mile off shore before making any turns unless instructed otherwise by the Tower. Climb at best rate consistent with safety. Turn on course when at least 1/4 mile off shore at or above 1,200 feet. Southbound departures, remain off shore following the Hilton Head Shore line.

Runway 21 - Departures

Climb straight ahead to 1,200 feet and the start of Broad Creek before making any turns unless instructed otherwise by the Tower. At Broad Creek, Southbound departures make a left turn to the shoreline, then follow the Hilton Head shoreline Southbound just off shore. All others, turn on course Broad Creek at not less then 1,200 feet AGL.

All Arrivals

As instructed by the Tower. Remain off-shore whenever possible and at pattern altitude as long as practicable. On final, maintain glide slope using the PAPIS.
